The Agricultural Mechanization Development Program (AMDP) was fouded in 1979 by the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT), UPLB, as its research, development and extension arm in mechanization. Is was elevated into Center for Agri-Fisheries and Biosystems Mechanization (BIOMECH) during the UP Board of Regents 1312th meeting on October 29, 2015.

BIOMECH has work towards contributing to increasing agricultural productivity, improving the income of farmers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs, and shaping the country’s mechanization RD&E and policy directions.
